Following Electricity Disruption in some parishes
(Kingston, Jamaica – October 9, 2026) JPS is advising that all customers have been restored following service disruption this morning across several parishes, due to transient trips on the transmission network which also impacted generating units. Adverse weather conditions were being experienced at the time of the trips.
All customers were restored by 11:34am following the system disturbance at 10:14am.
The cause of the event is being further investigated.
