JPS warns the public to beware of impersonators

(Kingston – Monday, November 5, 2025) JPS is advising members of the public to be on the lookout for unscrupulous individuals posing as JPS workers or contractors. These individuals are claiming they are on location to carry out electricity-related services and checks, in order to gain unauthorized access to customers’ premises. These actions are illegal and threaten public safety.

The Company is reminding customers that all legitimate JPS employees and contractors carry official photo identification cards and are asking the public not to allow anyone onto their property without proper identification.

JPS has described the action of the perpetrators as unfortunate, as the country tries to restore a sense of normalcy following the passage of Hurricane Melissa.

The public is being urged to remain vigilant and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.

In the meantime, the Company is reminding the public to get updates from official sources which include: the website at www.jpsco.com, the MyJPS Mobile App, @myjpsonline on Instagram and X, Facebook (Jamaica Public Service Company) and their WhatsApp channel (Jamaica Public Service Updates).
