Strong Cold Front Winds Cause Outages in Sections of Some Parishes

(Kingston, February 3, 2026)  JPS is reporting that strong winds associated with the cold front impacting the island, have caused power outages in some parishes, including sections of Hanover, St. Ann, the Corporate Area, St. Catherine and Clarendon. The Company is making every effort to facilitate swift restoration for the affected customers.

“Our emergency response teams are already carrying out restoration where it is safe to do so,” the Company’s Chief Operating Officer, Lance Becca noted. “Crews were working late into Monday night (February 2) to restore customers, and we have made significant headway,” he stated.

JPS is urging members of the public to exercise caution, especially around broken wires and to report outages or hazards using the JPS mobile app, its social media pages @myjpsonline, or the Customer Care Centre at 888-CALL-JPS or 888-225-5577 (Flow) or 888-935-5577 (Digicel)
