Our Commitment

The JPS Foundation (JPSF) is committed to doing
transformative work, playing a critical role in preserving
Jamaica’s natural environment and enhancing our capacity
in science and technology.
We will support JPS in meeting its social environmental
responsibility through implementing impactful and
sustainable initiatives, that will add value to the
communities we serve and help them to thrive. These
initiatives will help to solve social and environmental
challenges within our industry.
We will achieve this through embracing Climate Resilience,
Community Empowerment and STEM Education as our
core focus areas

Climate Resilience

Climate Action Conference and Expo

Signature programme which will mark the
culmination of activities from Power Up Energy
Clubs and Power Up Community Action and will
serve as hub for the exposition of innovative ideas
and climate resilient solutions.

eDrive

a JPS Foundation and IDB Lab
collaboration to facilitate development of electric
mobility sector.

NEPA Adopt a Mangrove

JPS Foundation has become the first corporate entity to sign on to the National Environment & Planning Agency’s (NEPA’s) Adopt-a-Mangrove Programme! 🌾🥳 We have adopted the mangroves in the Sturridge Park, Palisadoes-Port Royal Protected Area, situated along the Palisadoes strip, and will invest JMD7M over the next 5 years to restore the mangroves lost due to human interference and pollution from the Kingston Harbour. #Throwback to World Wetlands Day (Feb 2) and our first, of many, mangrove planting activities! #JPSFoundation #PoweringWhatMatters #AdoptAMangrove #Jamaica

STEM Education

Power Up Energy Club

A secondary school
initiative that focuses on imparting knowledge and
bringing about behaviour change related to climate
action and innovation programmes.

Power Up Scholarships

A programme offering scholarship and grants for PEP students entering
high school and STEM tertiary students.

UWI CAPE STEM Workshop

A partnership with the UWI to host BOOT Camps in preparation for
sitting CAPE exams.

CSEC Exam Fee Grant

Payment of exam fees for secondary students doing specific STEM subjects.

Community Empowerment

Power Up Community Action

A community intervention that will empower residents from the targeted communities with the necessary qualifications and social skills to prepare them for the workforce, improve their interpersonal interactions and social value systems.
