Hundreds of Lineworkers from Jamaica and Overseas in Montego Bay Today – working to restore the city

(Kingston, November 16, 2025)   Hundreds of lineworkers from Jamaica, the Caribbean and North America are presently in the city of Montego Bay, working to restore power to critical facilities and residential areas in the tourism capital.  JPS made the report this morning, from its Regional Incident Command Centre in Montego Bay.

The Company notes that it is cognizant of the vital role that the city of Montego Bay plays in the national economy, and also as a major employer for residents in the neighbouring parishes of Westmoreland, Hanover, Trelawny and St. Ann.

Several essential services in the city have already received power supply, including some critical NWC pumps, the Sangsters International Airport and some commercial centres.

JPS commits to maintaining the flow of information to customers, as the restoration process continues, on the heels of the most devastating hurricane Jamaica has ever experienced.
