Kenyatta Campbell served in several roles since joining JPS in 2004, immediately after completing University. His first appointment was as a Material Specifications Engineer which he held until the end of 2007 when he became the Operations Engineer in Westmoreland until March 2009. Kenyatta was then promoted to the position of Acting Operations Manager for St. James. In September 2009 he was appointed the Team lead for the Region West Losses Team and led the task force responsible for the auditing of customers’ accounts to reduce the incidents of electricity theft in that region. He also developed strategies to improve the strike rate of audit teams. Kenyatta was promoted once more in 2009 to the position of Operations Manager, where he led the development and implementation of strategies to reduce electrical energy losses for rate 10 and small rate 20 customers in the parishes of Westmoreland, Hanover, St James, Trelawny and St Ann.
In December 2012 Kenyatta was promoted to the role of Parish Manager, Westmoreland until taking over in his current role as Parish Manager, Westmoreland and St. Elizabeth, when St. Elizabeth was added to region west.
Kenyatta received his Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of the Oriente, Santiago, Cuba. He has also received an MBA (Distinction and Most Outstanding Academic Performance) from the University of the West Indies’ Western Campus. Kenyatta enjoys travelling, reading, football, music and dancing; speaks Spanish fluently and is currently learning basic Japanese in the Marubeni sponsored program. He is a member of the Westmoreland Parish Committee and a former Chairman of the Projects and Planning Committees. Kenyatta is a member of the JPS iLEAD Cohort 1 and is a Professional Engineer.
