Emru Williams has overall responsibility for the Company’s corporate accounting department including functions such as financial reporting, tax compliance and the efficient functioning of the Company’s financial operations. He is responsible for the maintenance of an effective internal control environment and ensuring compliance with local accounting standards and best practice internal control procedures.
He joined the JPS team in December 2014 from PricewaterhouseCoopers where he served as a Senior Manager in their Assurance practice. He has over 18 years’ experience in the provision of accounting and audit services to clients in a wide range of industries, including government, manufacturing, insurance and other financial services.
He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ) and holds a Masters in Business Administration (Finance), Manchester Business School. He has also served as a member of the ICAJ’s Continuing Professional Development Committee and has presented at several of the ICAJ Seminars on IFRS subject matter.
